Fabriques d’Horlogerie de Fontainemelon (FHF)

The founding of Fabriques d’Horlogerie de Fontainemelon (FHF) in 1793, would be the catalyst of the largest Swiss watch movement design and manufacturing firm, which would ultimately cause the establishment of the German Watch Industry with Alpina, Junghans, Laco and Durowe among the companies created to supply their own watch movements.

ETA

ETA traces its roots to the 1793 founding of Fabriques d’Horlogerie de Fontainemelon (FHF) by David Benguerel, Isaac Benguerel, François Humbert-Droz and Julien Humbert-Droz.

ETA [ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse] is headquartered in Grenchen, Switzerland. ETA originally designed and manufactured ébauches and complete movements  for watch making companies; ETA movements & ébauches are found in many watch brands. ETA eventually built their capability to make all components necessary for a completed watch.  Eventually , through a series of mergers, ETA became the largest manufacturer of Swiss watch movements and controlled a virtual monopoly over their production and supply.

The I.D. Watch Case Co.
The I.D. Watch Case Co. was a case maker from New York. This case was introduced in 1936. The I. D. Watch Case Co., Inc. was located at 121 Varick St. in New York City -  1930 to 1942. In 1965, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for ID by I.D. WATCH CASE CO., INC.that EXPIRED in 1986. I have not discovered if it was a resurrected or new company in 1965.
