INVICTA SA?
DURING WWII STEEL WAS RATIONED
EVEN TO SWISS COMPANIES
THUS ONLY CERTAIN WATCH CASE CONCERNS
WERE ABLE TO PRODUCE CASES. WE SEE LOTS OF
TOP NAME BRANDS THAT SWITCHED TO CHROME CASES
BUT THEY HAD TO HAVE STEEL SCREW DOWNS.
RATHER THAN PRODUCE CASE BACKS WITH EACH BRAND BRANDED INTO CASE BACK
THEY WERE SOLD WITH NO BRAND NAME
INVICTA TOOK TIME TO HAND GRAVE THEIR BRAND

RARE RARE RARE

WHO WOULD KNOW THESE FACTS WITHOUT OPENING THE WATCH!

INVICTA HAD TO FIGHT FOR THEIR TOP GRADE    SWISS MOVEMENTS FROM 1938 TO 1947 DUE TO THE BRITISH AND EUROPEAN GOVERNMENTS INVESTING IN MILLIONS OF WATCHES AS WELL AS MATERIALS GOING TO TANKS, AIRCRAFT, SHIPS AND... .....IT WAS ALWAYS A BATTLE. WHAT  FACTORIES REMAINED IN WATCH CASE AND MOVEMENT PRODUCTION  WERE OVERLOADED WITH ORDERS FROM NEARLY EVERY COUNTRY WITH A MILITARY.THE  GROWING LACK OF MATERIALS   IMMEDIATELY MEANT A LIMITED ABILITY TO HAVE  CUSTOM TAGGED WATCH MOVEMENTS AND CASES CREATED. THUS, THIS PARTICULAR 1940 - 1942 AS 1123 MOVEMENT IS A RARE CLASSIC. CONSTRUCTED ALONG THE VERY SAME LINES- AS WELL AS ASSEMBLY LINES- AS THE SWISS AS 1130, UTILIZED EXTENSIVELY IN WATCHES THAT WENT ON TO FAME IN THE GERMAN ARMY,  IT WAS FORTIFIED WITH EXTENSIVE ASPECTS OF QUALITY. THIS AS 1123  MOVEMENT  MIRRORED THE AS 1130 YET CONTAINED THE SIGNS OF LUXURY FOR BOTH EYE AND BREATH OF RUNNING TIME. JUST LOOK AT IT!  GOOGLE SWISS MOVEMENTS AND LOOK AT THEM. NOTE THIS MOVEMENT HAS THE 3 LETTER US IMPORT CODE ON THE COCK BRIDGE. A MUST TO IMPORT THE MOVEMENT OR COMPLETE TIMEPIECE INTO THE USA.NOTE THE FAMILIAR PATENTED IN ITS TIME BRASS HOUR GLASS AND RED JEWEL  INCABLOC SHOCK DEVICE OVER THE BALANCE? THE SAME SETUP   IS ON THE OPPOSITE END TO PROTECT BOTH BALANCE STAFF PIVOTS FROM SHOCK AND BREAKAGE.NOTE THE BIMETALLIC BALANCE WITH RIVETS? IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT UTILIZING TWO METALS, SUCH AS BRASS ALLOY AND WHITE METAL ALLOY, CONTROLLED THE PROBLEM OF TEMPERATURE CHANGES EFFECTING AN ALL BRASS ALLOY BALANCE.THE TWO METALS COMPENSATED..NOTE THE  15 JEWELS, THE EXACT NUMBER THAT WAS CONTRACTED FOR BY THE BRITISH MILITARY.  NOTE BRASS "RING" AROUND THE CENTER WHEEL PINION/ AND BRASS RINGS FOR JEWELS?WE HAVE 9 SITES FOR OUR PATRONS. EDUCATION IS OUR TOP CONCERN. VISIT GOLDSMITHWORKS AND LEARN!BACK WHEN,  AN INDIVIDUAL DISCOVERED THAT USING BRASS AGAINST WHITE METALS, AND VICE VERSA, EXTENDED THE LIFE OF THE PARTS.  IF YOU UTILIZED A  BRASS ALLOY AGAINST A BRASS ALLOY, SAY TWO WHEELS,  EACH MADE OF THE SAME BRASS ALLOY, THEY WOULD WEAR OUT TWICE OR MORE BEFORE A WHEEL OF BRASS ALLOY AGAINST A WHEEL OF  WHITE METAL ALLOY,, THUS, WATCH WHEELS AND GEARS THAT COMPOSED THE DERIVE TRAINS WERE MADE OF OPPOSING METALS. NOW,  MOVEMENTS UTILIZE SYNTHETIC SAPPHIRE "JEWELS". WHY THESE JEWELS? METAL AGAINST METAL = FRICTION = WEAR. METAL AGAINST JEWEL REDUCES FRICTION THUS = LESS WEAR.  OIL ON JEWEL LASTS LONGER THAN OIL ON METALS ALONE.THEN, WE HAVE BRIDGES AND PLATES MADE OF ALLOYS.  WHETHER THE BRIDGE/PLATE IS COMPOSED OF WHITE METALS SUCH AS NICKEL ALLOY, OR BRASS ALLOY, MOST BRIDGES AND PLATES  ARE PLATED OR GILDED. DEPENDING ON THE QUALITY, THESE FINISHES VARY. ON A PATEK/TIFFANY 18K POCKET WATCH I JUST COMPLETED, THE MOVEMENT IS NOT ONLY DETAILED BY HAND, BUT BOTH THE MOVEMENT AND WHEELS, INCLUDING THE HOUNDS TEETH WHEELS, ARE GILDED WITH PLATINUM.THIS MOVEMENT HAS  BRASS ALLOYED BRIDGES WITH GILDING. I CANNOT TEST THE COMPOSURE OF THE GILDING TO DETERMINE ITS CONTENT,BUT JUDGING FROM ITS FINISH, AFTER OVER 70 YEARS OF USE, I WOULD SAY IT IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY. YET MOVEMENT DETAILING SIMPLY DOES NOT END THERE. NOTE THE BRASS COLOR AROUND THE JEWELS AND CENTER WHEEL PINION, TO TAKE THE TIME TO GILD MOVEMENT WHILE EXPOSING THE ALLOY OF THE PLATES AND BRIDGES MEANS TIME. AND TIME IS MONEY. YET IN THE FACE OF WAR, SOMEONE TOOK THE TIME TO TO DETAIL EACH MOVEMENT FOR A FULL RUN. A LOT OF MOVEMENTS. THIS MEANS THIS MOVEMENT FITS INTO THE HIGHEST QUALITY END OF ALL MOVEMENTS EVER MADE--LET ALONE WWII WHEN MATERIALS WERE SCARCE!AND FINALLY, IF WE LOOK AT THE MOVEMENT AND THE ONE BELOW, WE SEE SIMILARITIES. WHAT ARE THEY? THE ABOVE MOVEMENT IS SIMILAR TO THE EARLY AS 1130 MADE FAMOUS BY THE GERMAN WEHRMACHT. THEY WERE  MADE BY THE SWISS IN 1936 UNTIL AFTER THE WAR AND USED IN THE WAR WITH SUCH SPECTACULAR RESULTS--- IT ACTUALLY WAS FOREVER TITLED

THE "German Wehrmacht Movement"

MOVEMENT BASED ON THE
SWISS AS 1130 German Wehrmacht Movement
[MILITARY]

INVICTA  INVESTED IN MOVEMENTS THAT WERE   HIGH END CALIBER, BOT BEFORE AND FOR NEARLY TWO  DECADES AFTER WWII. THEIR EARLY MOVEMENTS WERE " MILITARY DESIGNED " -AS IN THE AS 1123" AND SPECIALLY ASSEMBLED WITH INCABLOC SHOCK SYSTEM,  SPECIAL MOUNTS,  BI-METALLIC SCREW BALANCES AND MORE..SO, WHEN YOU NOTE THE RATHER ARCHAIC HAND INSCRIBED "INVICTA" AND THREE LETTER "USA IMPORT CODE" ON BALANCE COCK AND THE "FIFTEEN JEWELS" UNDER THE  ORIGINAL "15 RUBIS" YOU REALIZE INVICTA WAS PROUD  TO OFFER WATCHES WITH THE HIGHEST QUALITY EVEN IF IT MEANT HAND INSCRIBING EVERY MOVEMENT IN A TIME THAT MANY COMPANIES SIMPLY PLACED MOVEMENTS WITH ANY BRAND ON THEM. THUS  QUALITY DOES NOT HAVE TO MEAN GOLD CASES OR 25 JEWELS. INVICTA   IMPORTED THE MOVEMENTS INTO THE USA WHERE THEY WERE THEN ASSEMBLED INTO THE   WATCHES BEING CREATED BY TO SELL TO PROFESSIONALS, LIKE DOCTORS AND NURSES,   AND FOR  SALE TO SOLDIERS.
