THE CASE

IT IS OUR THOUGHTS THAT THE CASE
IS SWISS MADE. IT IS HOW YOU SEE IT ABOVE,
A SINGLE PIECE WITH LOCKING CRYSTAL BEZEL

THOUGH TRENCH ART IS FAMILIAR IN IT'S   UNUSUAL, WEIRD, SOPHISTICATED AND/OR SIMPLE WORKS, IT IS  FREQUENTLY DISCOVERED
CASES WITH ITEMS SUCH AS BADGES ARE ALSO DISCOVERED
BUT, AS 40.000 PICS ON LINE SHOW, ONLY APP 5% OF CERTAIN PERIODS HAVE CASES SIGNED, MARKED OR WORKED,
INCLUDING THE ADDING OF BADGES. S
O REMEMBER THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE GENUINE AND RARE.

SIGNED

THE RED ON THE CASE IS PAINT
WE ARE NOT SURE IF THE CASE WAS PAINTED RED
WHEN CLEANING WE REMOVED MOST OF IT

A REAL LOOKER

MOVG_9511.jpg (26824 bytes)

THIS MOVEMENT,SIGNED BY ELGIN, BEGAN ITS LIFE AS A SWISS EBAUCHE OR... COMPLETE MOVEMENT.

THUS THE ORIGINAL DATE MAY HAVE BEEN 1937, 1938, 1940 OR 1941.

WITH THE SWISS CASE, DIAL AND MOVEMENT, THIS WATCH COULD HAVE MADE BY OE FOR ELGIN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH A SWISS COMPANY FOR BRITAIN.

OUR DATING OF THE WATCH AS 1941 RESTS WITH THE TRENCH ART ENGRAVING ON THE CASE.

NOTE THIS MOVEMENT HAS NO INCABLOC, SO WE KNOW IT IS AN EARLY VERSION. ADDITIONALLY, IT LOOKS TO BE A MOVEMENT  SIMILAR TO THE WORK HORSE AS 1130.

THE SO CALLED GERMAN ARMY MOVEMENT.

A SWISS MOVEMENT USED IN MANY SWISS MADE GERMAN MILITARY WATCHES  [BELOW].
