IMG_0614.JPG (68031 bytes) IMG_4121.JPG (197528 bytes)

THIS IS THE FIRST SERIES OF PICTURES

IMG_1210.JPG (58379 bytes)

AWESOME CHRONOGRAPH DATES FROM 40'S BUT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS WORKED IN THE 50/60'S
NOTE THE DIRT GRIME. I WILL NOT RESTORE DIAL. IT WILL CLEAN UP NICELY

IMG_1211.JPG (56412 bytes)

NOTE PIC ABOVE THIS ONE AND BELOW? THE SECONDS SWEEPS  COUNTER HAND
[WOULD BE SECOND HAND ON REGULAR WATCH] IS MOVING. BEFORE DOING ANY THING
--ESPECIALLY KNOWING THIS BEAUTIFUL RARE CHRONO WOULD REQUIRE A 300 TO 400 + SERVICE
AND 300-400 IN CASE REPAIR WORK-- I WANTED TO  SEE IF SHE WOULD RUN. I LUBRICATED THE FILTHY MOVEMENT
PULLED BALANCE FOR HAIR SPRING DIP THEN OILED. THEN LUBED MAIN. AND GOT HER RUNNING
THE ONE PROBLEM I HAVE IS  THAT SECONDS SWEEP COUNTER HAND IS LOOSE
IT IS LIKE THE WORST THING TO ME. GETTING IT TO NOT MOVE WHEN RESET. IT HITS 12 BUT GOES
TO 11 OR 1003 RIGHT OF12. BUT IT WORKED .

IMG_1212.JPG (57678 bytes)

THE LEFT SUB REGISTER IS ACTUALLY THE SECONDS HAND. IT M,OVES ALL THE TIME
THE CHRONO SHOULD NEVER BE RUN FOR LONG PERIODS AND NEVER CONTINUOUS.

THE REGISTER ON RIGHT COUNTS THE NUMBER OF TIMES THE CENTER SWEEP RUNS THROUGH THE 12 HOURS.

1111111PPPPPCSE.jpg (100710 bytes)

FIRST LOOK SEE

1111111CSE165.jpg (126688 bytes)

I REMOVED MOVEMENT AND PULLED BALANCE AGAIN. THEN CLEANED THE MOVEMENT WHILE ASSEMBLED
I WILL STRIP, CLEAN AND POLISH AFTER I MEASURE THE AREAS OF CASE REQUIRING REPAIR
AND THE WAY THE MOVEMENT AND PUSHERS OPERATE AS TO CASE AND DAMAGE

IMG_1176.JPG (59142 bytes)

HERE THE  MOVEMENT IS OUT OF CASE  FOR TOTAL STRIPPING
ON A CHRONOGRAPH MOVEMENT THIS IS A 350 TO 450 DOLLARS [USD] SERVICE
COMPLETE STRIP INTO SINGLE PIECES THEN  CLEAN IN BOTH 1950' 4 JAR WITH HEAT DRY
THEN 50% OF PARTS GO INTO ULTRASONIC CLEANER .

THEN BALANCE IS DIPPED AGAIN AND BOTTOM [WHEN WATCH FACE UP] JEWEL OILED
THEN NEW MAIN SPRING. THEN  POLISH BRIDGES. THEN ASSEMBLE THEN ADJUST.
WITH CHRONOGRAPHS ADJUSTMENTS ARE MORE THAN SIMPLY A BALANCE.

111111111AAAAA-21.jpg (42314 bytes)

MOVEMENT COMPLETELY OVERHAULED. THE FINISH
IS RESTORED TO 75/ 80%. WHICH IS FANTASTIC. WITHOUT CHANGING PARTS

IMG_1179.JPG (59329 bytes)

I HEATED CASE AND PRETTY MUCH REMOVED 95% OF BULGES, CREASES, BUCKLING.
SOME AREAS STILL SHOW MINUTE CHANGES BUT THEY ARE NOT VISIBLE.
18K GOLD IS SOFT, BUT TO REPAIR WITHOUT CRACKING IT . IT HAS TO BE ANNEALED
YET ONLY IN CERTAIN AREAS. EXTREMELY DIFFICULT ,  HIGH WHITE OXY/GAS TEMP
MEANS THE SLIGHTEST MISTAKE WOULD HAVE MELTED THE THIN WALLS
. I WAS LIKE PRAYING WHILE PERFORMING THE WORK.
I INFORMED DENISE TO SHUT PHONES GET DOGS OUT AND  NOT TO OPEN MY DOOR.

IMG_1213.JPG (45698 bytes)

THOUGHT I WAS KIDDING?
MY NEW AND IMPROVED WORK STUDIO IS AWESOME
SOUNDPROOF

NO PHONES
NO NOTHING BUT AN AWESOME ST UP
1200 WATTS OF LIGHT OVER MY BENCHES
6 SEPARATE STATIONS
MY VA COUNCILOR SAID IT WAS BETTER THAN MY GOING ROM 235 LBS. TO 165 LBS.
4 MONITORS ON MY BENCH
THREE 7 CPS RUN EVERYTHING
THAT IS 7 COMPUTERS!
I HAVE WIDE SCREEN TV ON CABLE
NO ONE POPS IN AND MAKES ME LOSE MY THOUGHTS OR PLACE
7 SONY CAMERAS WITH TWO SERVERS AND CONTROLS
TWO WIRELESS CONNECTIONS
YOU SEE ABOVE? NO SHOES. ITS ABOUT TIME
NOT SINCE  I HAD MY 11M500 SQ. FT LOCATION WITH LOFT DID I ENJOY MY WORK BETTER

NO MORE PIT BULLS
THAT IS TEDDY TO LEFT AND ZAINY TO THE RIGHT

IMG_1167.JPG (33910 bytes)

HERE I USED UV LIGHTING TO EXAMINE CASE BACKS FOR CRACKS. THE TORCH LIGHT CAST A BLUE
LIGHT THAT TURNS GOLD INTO A SILVER LOOKING COLOR, WILD NO? THOSE MARKS LOOK LIKE
LINES FROM A WASH RAG.. THEY ARE NOT. W/O THE LIGHT IT LOOKS SMOOTH! THIS OUTER CASE
WILL BE MACHINE BUFFED TO REMOVE THIS LINING THAT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS FROM A HEAT
REPAIR ON THE CASE BACK DECADES AGO

IMG_1209.JPG (50088 bytes)

18K BEZEL W/ CRYSTAL
BOTTOM HALLMARK  CASE BACK IS 18K [750/75% PURE GOLD] THIN WALLED OUTER BACK
SAME ONE AS IN UV LIGHT CHECK VERY THIN

1111BASEMETAL.jpg (18782 bytes)
NOTE IT SAYS BASE METAL--WELL, YOU SEE "METAL"
THIS IS IMPORTANT. SO MANY SELLERS LIST THEIR GOLD WATCHES AS X AMOUNT OF GRAMS
YET, AND THIS IS FACT , 80%.ARE NOT AWARE THAT 70% OF ALL GOLD--ESPECIALLY 18K--   CASES
HAVE BASE METAL SUPPORT RINGS. AND THEY ARE HEAVY. USUALLY BRASS ALLOY OF STAINLESS STEEL
THESE GUYS MAKE UP 20 TO 40% OF THE WEIGHT OF CASE AND  MUST BE REMOVED OR ESTIMATED -- I HAVE THE FORMULAS--
ON CONTENT WEIGHT. MANY CASES HAVE THEM AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CASE.
THEY CANNOT BE REMOVED WITHOUT DAMAGING CASE BEYOND REPAIR

TOP ONE ID 80% BASE METAL.A HEAVY RING SUPPORTS THE WALLS OF THE CASE
IT ADDS WEIGHT. IT IS NOT GOLD. THOUGH THE OUTER AREA LOOKS LIKE  SUPER THIN SHEET GOLD
PROBLEM REMAINS.NO DOUBLE SNAP WALL.--BUT I WILL FIGURE IT OUT

INNER BASE METAL THICK RINGED GOES FIRST. THAT RING IS THE SUPPORT IT SNAPS INTO WALL
THEN THE 100% 18K OUTER CASE SNAPS OVER AND ONTO THE INNER CASE

IMG_1208.JPG (50345 bytes)

YOU CAN SEE A FEW DARK AREAS INSIDE WALL?
LEFT OVER HEAT EXCHANGE,I DO NOT WANT TO BUFF INTERIOR.
OUTER SIDE IS POLISHED IT IS MINIMUM. NO HARM. NO LOSE OF VALUE MINOR

IMG_1185.JPG (52580 bytes)IMG_1179.JPG (59329 bytes)

NOTE AGAIN. DARKER AREAS NEAR STEM AND PUSH PINS?
I COULD WIRE BRUSH BUT IT WILL NOT CAUSE ANYTHING
LET ALONE LOWER THE VALUE OF THIS TIME PIECE
JUST A LITTLE SURFACE GOLD STAINING FROM HEAT AND REPAIR

IMG_1189.JPG (33612 bytes)

I CLEANED/POLISHED BEZEL TWO CASE BACKS AND DIAL

IMG_1188.JPG (40320 bytes)

A FEW REMAINING MARS.MARKS ON DIAL WHEN MAGNIFIED
VERY MINOR NOT WORTH DOING ANYTHING , VALUE HIGHER LEAVING AS IS
KEEPS NEAR PERFECT TIME,CHRONO WORKS THOUGH SECONDS HAND HAS TO BE REPLACED
OH! SECONDS REGISTER WORKS PERFECT-- COUNTER REGISTER ON RIGHT WORKS FLAWLESSLY

IMG_1207.JPG (34101 bytes)

WOW. DID I DO THAT? I CANNOT TELL THE SIDE OF CASE AND LEFT TOP LUG WERE DENTED
BUCKLED AND DAMAGED.. WELL, REDUNDANT MAYBE BUT WARRANTED...

IMG_1182.JPG (31314 bytes)

LEFT?

NEW SWEEPS HAND
FIGURE HOW TO INSTALL THE TWO CASE BACKS
POLISH OUTER CASE
CLEAN AND POLISH THE BRACELET
ALL PARTS SHOULD LOOK LIKE THEY BELONG AFTER
MEANING CASE AND BRACELET

IMG_1183.JPG (30742 bytes)

CHECK THE JAPANESE WWII TIMER ON LEFT!

I COMPLETED 22 PIECES IN 7 DAYS
44 IN TWO WEEKS
THE FACT IS NONE WERE SENT IN LESS THAN 5 TO 6 MONTHS AGO
THE MAJORITY WERE 6 MOS TO 1.4 YEARS

I NEVER EVER OFFER A GUARANTEED TIME OF START OR COMPLETION
THOUGH MOST  --PARTS PARTS PART - UNUSUAL REPAIRS REPAIRS REPAIRS--   RESTORATIONS
ARE ACCOMPLISHED AS  SOON AS PARTS COME IN AND THAT MEANS 2 TO 4 WEEKS
